An Author Portrait Session in London, England
There’s something magical about about wandering the historic streets of Bloomsbury, especially when you’re in the company of a talented author like Emily Midorikawa. Last month, I had the pleasure of embarking on a portrait session with Emily, capturing both her essence and the essence of this vibrant London neighborhood.
As we wandered through the streets, exchanging anecdotes and insights, it became clear why Bloomsbury holds a special place in both our hearts. It’s rich tapestry of culture and history provides the perfect backdrop for conversation and creative inspiration.
Emily Midorikawa, renowned for her illuminating works, such as “Out of the Shadows: Six Visionary Victorian Women in Search of a Public Voice” and her co-authorship of “A Secret Sisterhood: The Literary Friendships of Jane Austen, Charlotte Brontë, George Eliot and Virginia Woolf”, embodies the spirit of Bloomsbury with her deep understanding of literature and the human experience.
It was a pleasure photographing portraits of her on our walk. With every click of the shutter, I aimed to capture Emily’s essence of her literary passion and the depths of her literary insight, preserving a moment in time that reflects her genuine spirit and intellectual grace.
Until our paths cross again, I’ll carry the memories of our literary stroll through Bloomsbury with me, a cherished chapter in my own story.
